About The Role
Nottingham City Council Enviroenergy operates a District Heating Scheme to 5,000 domestic & commercial properties and a private wire network supplying commercial properties. A vacancy has arisen for 2 Plant Operations Technicians (Boiler Operator).
You will provide operational support of the day-to-day operation of the Heat Station at London Road. Under direct supervision of the Plant Operations Engineer, you will carry out various tasks associated with the operations and maintenance of the station including: proactive compilation of water treatment analysis on system feed waters and provide results to both Operations and Compliance Engineers, undertaking routine PPM inspections on auxiliary equipment, cleaning and painting of plant and machinery, complete shift and event logs and data collection in line with audit and safety requirements providing a safe, efficient and continuous supply of heat and power to our domestic and commercial customers.
The post holders will support the Plant Operations Engineer in ensuring all operations impacting the Heat Station are delivered safely and in compliance with established procedures, operating start and stop functions of gas fired boilers and adjustment of firing rates as directed by the Plant Operations Engineer.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Candidates will require previous experience in a similar role
- City & Guilds or BOAS certification in boiler operations (or marine equivalent)
- Ability to collate data and support recording processes on an ongoing basis
- Ability to support plant operations to solve problems and have the flexibility to respond to changing circumstances
- Knowledge of water treatment
- Steam raising plant experience
- Hold a current Driving Licence
- This post is covered by the statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) (English Language Requirement for public sector workers) and therefore the ability to speak fluent English, is an essential requirement for the role.
- The role requires you to participate in the on-call rota.
