Role
The PMO Manager role will form part of the Cyber Programme office and be responsible for supporting the maintenance of key controls and reporting associated to the SPEN Cyber change agenda.
The role will support the NIS Programme Office Manager to oversee the adherence and effective management of defined change governance controls across multiple programmes delivering the Cyber change agenda, as well as collating progress and financial reporting for senior stakeholders.
The role will build strong relationships across the programme team, as well as with wider business stakeholder, ensuring alignment to key delivery requirements.
What You Will Be Doing
You will be able to:
Lead the PMO team in supporting projects to ensure good practice standards and processes are aligned and adhered to.
Apply critical decision making to progress PMO deliverables, and identify risk and issues.
Take decisions within the scope of the role and escalate as appropriate.
Challenge stakeholders of all grades to ensure timely adherence to department and corporate controls.
Produce detailed documentation within challenging timelines.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders across functions and grades.
Prioritise and manage C-Suite stakeholder expectations.
Motivate or influence stakeholders to follow a course of action.
Effectively time manage, prioritise and organise workloads in a fluid environment.
Use Microsoft office applications effectively.
What You Will Bring
You will have experience in:
Leading a PMO team.
Management and development of junior PMO staff.
Prioritise team workloads to meet shifting delivery demands.
Working in a regulatory controlled environment.
Project reporting & control, and budgetary controls.
Tracking and reporting project management deliverables.
The use of artefacts utilised to support programme / project delivery.
Design and development of PMO controls to support the department change agenda.
Liaising with multiple parties including programme/project managers, internal stakeholders, and third-party vendors.
Capable of producing accurate, relevant work to tight deadlines.
Being able to push back and challenge project managers to maintain reporting assurance levels, and accurate financial analysis.
Minimum Requirement
- Previous Project Management Office Experience.
- Previous experience of leading a PMO team.
- Proven ability to work within a fluid working environment to agreed timescales.
- Commercial awareness and experience.
- Understanding of the UK IT footprint.
- Be a proficient user of the MS Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project.
- HND or Degree level qualification preferable
- Recognised industry standard project management qualifications
