The Investment and Operations Change and Technology team provides strategic change and technology solutions to support investment performance, enhance client outcomes, and improve operational efficiency. The type of change demand ranges from incremental business-as-usual changes, through to large-scale transformation initiatives.
The Portfolio Lead Business Analyst will play a pivotal role in driving the success of the Investment and Operations team by leading the analysis and management of a diverse portfolio of projects. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with various stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Leading a team of 5-10 business analysts, continually developing talent and improving performance to ensure the function is high performing.
- Programme Partnership: Partner with programme leads to ensure the quality and consistency of the analysis completed within their portfolios and taking a proactive approach to workforce development to ensure that the aligned analysts are equipped to support the strategic change roadmap.
- Player/Manager role: Alongside their leadership duties, the role holder will conduct business analysis activities. Primarily, this will be a mix of business capability assessment, target operating model design, and feasibility assessments – to support the development of business cases, solution and delivery options, and creation of recommendation and option papers.
- Community of Practice: Work alongside the other Portfolio Lead Business Analysts to drive consistency, collaboration and improvements across the whole Asset Management Business Analysis community, leveraging best practice and industry standards to enhance business outcome delivery and employee engagement.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Develop strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the Investment and Operations functions, seeking direct feedback from the recipients of change, and improving the ability to influence.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- A proven ability to define target operating models, conduct business capability and feasibility assessments.
- Ability to manage and coach business analyst resources.
- Ability to engage both business and technology stakeholders, to C-suite and executive level.
- Ability to drive the strategic business and technical requirements definition across large projects and programmes.
- Strong facilitation skills to elicit information from key stakeholders internally and externally.
- Ability to tailor and present complex data to different stakeholders.
- Confident and effective communicator (both written and verbal) across all levels of the organisation.
- Passionate about developing a work environment that embraces and values diversity.
- Deep understanding of business analysis tools, techniques and standards to drive the highest quality user documentation, impact assessments and cost benefits analysis.
- Proven and demonstrable analytical and problem-solving skills essential, with the ability to think laterally, challenge ideas and generate creative solutions.
- Ability to identify benefits and support their realisation.
- Ability to align business solution outcomes to overall corporate strategy requirements.
- Support the system training and change management strategy.
- A good understanding of a broad range of asset classes (ideally across Public and Private Assets), along with middle and back-office operations.
Experience: - Experience in managing and developing others
- Highly experienced BA with proven track record within financial services (asset management preferred)
- Proactive and delivery focused with excellent communication skills.
- Transformation and project delivery experience
