Post-16 NEET/EET (SEND)

PO2: £43,542 pa incl LW, rising in annual increments to 46,437

Full Time/Fixed Term (until June 2026)/Hybrid

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive NEET/EET Advisor to join our dynamic SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Service. This is a key role within the Local Authority’s efforts to improve post-16 outcomes for young people with EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans) and those with additional needs at risk of becoming NEET.

As a NEET/EET Advisor, you will work directly with young people aged 14–25, their families, education providers, and employers to support transitions into sustained education, employment, or training pathways.

About You

  • Experienced in working with young people with SEND and/or those facing barriers to education, training, or employment.
  • Knowledgeable about the post-16 landscape, including Supported Internships, Traineeships, apprenticeships, and inclusive employment practices.
  • Organised and able to manage a caseload effectively, keeping detailed records and tracking outcomes.
  • Empathetic and resilient, with excellent communication skills to engage young people, families, and professionals.
  • Able to build strong networks with local providers, employers, and voluntary sector partners to open up pathways for young people.
  • Relevant experience in careers guidance, youth work, education, employment support or SEND services.
  • Knowledge of statutory duties under the Children and Families Act 2014 and Preparing for Adulthood outcomes.
  • Understanding of safeguarding responsibilities.
