Join Us as a Practice Improvement Lead – Youth Justice & Care Experienced Teams

Westmorland and Furness Council is offering two exciting opportunities for Practice Improvement Leads within our Service Improvement Team. If you are passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people, and have the ambition to drive service transformation, we want to hear from you.

What’s Involved: As a Practice Improvement Lead, you’ll play a key role in shaping services that make a real difference in the lives of young people, focusing on one of two key areas:

Youth Justice Service:

  • Lead on improving services for children and young people in the Youth Justice system.
  • Collaborate with partner agencies and use performance data to drive good practice.
  • Develop training programmes and influence a shift in culture and practice within the team.

Care Experienced Team:

  • Drive change for care experienced young people, ensuring access to the right placements at the right time.
  • Build strong partnerships with health, housing, and education providers to remove barriers and create opportunities for care experienced young people.
  • Support the development of a strong Care Experienced Offer, including a user-friendly digital presence.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A qualified social worker with experience in Children Services, Youth Justice, or working with care experienced young people.
  • A creative and ambitious individual who is results-driven and passionate about improving services.
  • A natural leader with strong communication skills, able to inspire change.

Both roles involve working closely with our Service Improvement Leads to continuously enhance the services we provide and help shape the future of children’s services.
