Job Description
- Lead all project development activities to provide site acquisition due diligence; planning consent and related support; design management, site survey and investigation work, etc., that are necessary to agree ER’S/CP’S/Programme/Legal/Contract sum; and proceed to mobilisation
- Act as Bid Manager or key bidding team member as appropriate in planning for, preparing and submitting tenders for public sector customer opportunities
- Lead our development of preferred bidder situations to finalise and agree ER’S/CP’S/Programme/Legal/Contract Sum issues to secure contract award and permit site mobilisation to proceed
- Ensure that all UH health, safety, quality and environmental policies and processes are fully deployed during project development and bidding/post tender negotiation activities. Guaranteeing that everything carried out at these stages ensures that all subsequent design and construction work can be delivered in accordance with UHL policies, processes and procedures
- Communicate, co–operate with and co-ordinate all internal and external resources and parties to ensure full awareness of key issues to ensure effective input to, and delivery of, project development and bidding/post tender negotiation activity
- Ensure effective handover of all projects to the allocated Project Team at the appropriate stage(s) of the process
Qualifications
- Degree in Construction Management, or a related field.
- Experience in pre-construction within the property services.
- Strong understanding of commercial property development, construction processes, cost management, procurement strategies, and contract law.
- Proven ability to lead, manage, and develop teams, with strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with senior leadership and clients.
- In-depth understanding of cost management, budgeting, and financial controls.
- Strong analytical skills with a track record of identifying issues and implementing solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in industry-standard software such as MS Project, Asta or similar construction/project management tools.
