Here's What You'll Be Doing

npower Business Solutions (nBS) is the E.ON UK Industrial and Commercial (I&C) pillar and a market leader in the B2B energy retail sector. I&C is a £6 billion revenue business serving c60,000 customers and around 300,000 meter points with a view to becoming the number one B2B energy supplier in the UK.

We are looking for a Pricing Lead to join our team. For this role, you will be responsible for pricing Data and Metering Services products to ensure they are competitive whilst delivering business profitability aspirations, considering all factors which may impact prices. The position is based in Solihull or Leeds with hybrid working.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely, accurate and cost reflective delivery of Data and Metering Services prices across the full product set to deliver anticipated contract EBIT
  • Determine appropriate pricing strategies (i.e. treatment of customers based on customer size, type, portfolio location, contract length, product type, number of products contracted etc.).
  • Support the product lead in development of new Data and Metering Services product offering’s (e.g. transactional products, sub metering, energy coaching etc.).
  • Monitor the performance of underlying pricing assumptions and implement timely revisions.
  • Ensure prices are accurately attributed to the appropriate meter points, customers, and segments.
  • Establish control mechanisms for pricing, delivering a robust DOA authorisation process to effectively mitigate risk of over or under pricing.
  • Identify market trends and business growth aspirations and ensure these are adequately catered for within the pricing process.
  • Understand and challenge any shortfalls in EBIT expectations at the customer level.
  • Offer key pricing insights to support the product and costing leads to ensure our products meet our customers’ demands whilst being offered at the right price.


What We Need From You

  • Excellent commercial awareness and understanding of the B2B market and preferably the UK data and metering market.
  • Experience of working in a commercially focused and complex business environment with proven delivery of business initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver complex messages simply, clearly, and concisely, as well as liaise with stakeholders.
  • A demonstrable economic, market, and financial analytical capability.
  • Proven experience in identifying user requirements and ensuring customer-centric approaches.
  • Strong IT skills, including MS Office suite (especially Excel), VBA, and statistical packages.


It would be great if you had

  • Knowledge of the UK Energy and Metering Industry.
  • Enthusiasm for delivering and exceeding business performance.
  • Evidence of creative thinking to find new opportunities (e.g., through digitisation) and resolve emerging problems.
  • An in-depth understanding of pricing models and statistics.
