Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dependable Pricing Manager to join the well-established and growing commercial accounts team providing support to the immediate team, pricing function and the fee earning community across the firm as a business facing member of the accounting department.


What you'll do

The main duties and responsibilities for the role are as follows:

  • You will be the primary point of contact for pricing within the region. Provide analytical pricing support to senior stakeholders and management designed to drive the right behaviours that enhance profitability.
  • Assist in streamlining the annual rates setting process, including streamlining of office specific rates and review of all client specific rates.
  • Take ownership of large/complex client RFP and pricing requests and work closely with partners, colleagues in BD and with clients to coordinate related decision making.
  • Communicate with the business to discuss pricing strategies, brainstorm creative fee proposals, facilitate effective rate management and implement, and optimise efficiencies. Adapt the global pricing strategy to regional market conditions and norms
  • Prepare robust models and templates to support analysis of a wide range of fee proposals utilising Firm financial metrics.
  • Support wider projects and initiatives led by the wider pricing team designed to enhance financial performance and improve profitability (e.g. cost rate analysis).
  • Implement a process for post matter reviews.
  • Work alongside the financial systems team to develop reporting capability in Power BI.
  • Upskill the pricing ability of finance managers, pricing analysts and senior lawyers within the region.


About you

The successful candidate will possess the following qualities:

  • Effective time management is essential. The Pricing team work in a fast paced and sometimes demanding environment, at times working against competing deadlines.
  • Strong Excel proficiencies. Examples where experience would be beneficial are (but not limited to) pivot tables, conditional formatting, data validation and other advanced functions.
  • Pride in delivery of excellence. Excellent service delivery (time and quality) while maintaining good internal and external relationships and effective communication to manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Communication & interpersonal skills. This position involves liaison with colleagues across all levels, distilling financial information to those in both financial and non-financial roles.
  • People skills (teamwork). Working collaboratively with the wider pricing team and finance department. Good people skills are essential for cooperation and teamwork.
  • Focus on accuracy and attention to detail. To become a reliable and trusted advisor.
  • Proficient mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Pricing experience is in a professional services environment is preferred

Other desirable skills and experience

  • We welcome candidates with excellent academic ability who also hold a formal finance qualification and have experience of working within a professional services environment, but this is not a prerequisite.
