As our team has grown and exciting projects have been secured, we are now seeking several contract Principal Mechanical Process Engineers to join our friendly, supportive, and creative engineering team.

In this role, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team of Engineers and Designers working to deliver multiple projects as part of a site-based alliance between BakerHicks and the end client.

The projects offer a great variety, ranging from supporting the recovery, re-purposing, and re-use of some existing assets, as well as the design and installation of new assets.

Responsibilities

  • Perform the role of mechanical lead
  • Produce mechanical engineering design deliverables (including calculations, datasheets, specifications, scopes of work and schedules)
  • Contribute to safety reviews, constructability reviews and other risk assessment as appropriate.
  • Checking and approval of mechanical deliverables to ensure engineering designs meet appropriate quality and compliance controls, project brief and customer requirements.
  • Reviewing vendor quotations and liaising with equipment and package vendors
  • Utility system specification, design, and capacity evaluation
  • Checking of piping design documents, including checking isometrics and layout drawings
  • Assist in plant layout development

Requirements

Essential

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Significant experience in the Life Science or Pharmaceutical industry
  • Have experience in coordinating multi-disciplinary design teams

Desirable

  • Chartered Engineer Status
  • Want to take ownership, be innovative, use initiative and be driven by client satisfaction
