The Vacancy
Printer Assistant
Start date: 18 month fixed term contract, ASAP
Shift pattern: From your start date to 30 June 2025, you will be working Tuesday to Thursday, 6am – 6pm. From 1st July 2025, we will move to a Double Day shift pattern – Monday to Friday, 6am – 2pm or 2pm 10pm (alternated weekly).
Starting salary: £28,379 per annum, rising to £29,039 on successful completion of 3-month probation. Moving to £35,639 when working Double Day shift. Plus highly competitive overtime payments.
The role
Due to expansion at our operation near Loughton Essex, we are looking to recruit Print Assistants, to join our growing team. The role of a Print Assistant to assist Printers with the general duties on the machine in a safe and efficient manner. Ensuring production materials are available and prepared ready for use when required.

The role

Duties within the role include, but is not limited to;
- Keep the machines and surrounding areas clean and tidy adhering to 5S standards.
- Follow instruction from fellow crew members regarding the wash up including cleaning all necessary machine parts when required.
- Transport work to and from the machine and secure holding area, knocking up and handling substrate.
- Responsible for the optimal and continuous running of the feeder, making adjustments where required in order to support an efficient process.
- Load feeder and unload machine, stack materials, operate lifting tables and feeder/delivery hoists.
- Load board feeders on to press
- Ensure batch management protocols are adhered to in line with ISO 14298 standards
- Portering and control of WIP ensuring machines have constant supply of correct product. Machine kanbans kept full at all times adhering to batch control procedures with strict adherence to ISO 14298)
- Successfully pass both out client and company vetting processes including DBS and financial checks.
- Forklift truck license
- Comprehensive understanding the Banknote printing process
- Good eyesight with the ability to distinguish between colours
- Operate under own initiative
- Functional knowledge of jogging machines
- Basic knowledge of printing presses
