Procurement Leader – Exterior
Location: Pyms Lane, Crewe, CW1 3PL, with flexible hybrid working
Contract: Full time - Permanent
Purpose of the Role
As a Procurement Leader you will be responsible for leading change and innovation within the purchasing function and your own team. You’ll be an inspirational thought leader, driving the transformation of Bentley’s strategy reporting directly to the Head of Department.
You will play a pivotal role in developing supplier strategies, driving synergies with our VW partners and optimising sourcing for Bentley’s exterior components. Driving cost optimisation programs, managing diverse business challenges whilst aligning with Bentley’s sustainability goals. As a trusted leader, you’ll challenge the status quo, uphold the highest standards of integrity, and drive performance to meet the company’s broader business objectives and Beyond100+ strategy.
As the leader in exterior components sourcing, you will have a direct impact on the quality and performance of Bentley’s luxury vehicles, ensuring that every component aligns with our brand’s prestige and sustainability objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and inspire the delivery of the purchasing sourcing plan, working with Group synergies and counterparts ensuring continuous improvement in cost down, quality, and delivery performance.
- Challenge existing practices and drive innovation in purchasing.
- Seek new ways to optimise the supply chain and mitigate risks, while aligning with Bentley’s strategic goals.
- Manage and coach a high-performing team of 10-12 direct reports, fostering a culture of challenge continuous learning, growth, and collaboration.
- Champion integrity and transparency in all supplier relationships, ensuring compliance with group policies and best practices.
- Collaborate across the Bentley organisation and with the global VW Group to implement synergies and ensure that sourcing activities support the company’s strategic objectives.
- Provide leadership in steering committees, offering insights and recommendations to guide decision-making and shape the future of the business.
- Deliver on key financial objectives, including purchasing cost leverage, budget savings, and cost improvements, all while maintaining a strong focus on quality and supplier performance.
- Deputise for the Head of Department as needed, representing the department’s strategic objectives at the highest level.

About You – Skills And Experience
- Proven leadership experience in driving change, challenging established practices, and inspiring teams to innovate and continuously improve.
- Demonstrable experience of strong strategic thinking with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex challenges.
- Proven ability in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiations within complex, commercial environments (experience in automotive is desirable).
- Deep commitment to integrity and ethical practices, with the ability to influence others and align them with Bentley’s values and high standards.
- A leader who not only excels in driving change and innovation but also fosters an inclusive and diverse work environment where every voice is heard and valued.
- Demonstrated success in leading high-performing teams to achieve ambitious financial, operational, and strategic goals.
- Collaborative team player with strong cross-functional communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with exceptional problem-solving and prioritisation abilities.
- Educated to degree level (or equivalent); a professional qualification in procurement (CIPS) is highly desirable.
