We are looking for a permanent, full-time Procurement Manager to join our Procurement team in Annesley (NG15 0DR), working remotely up to 4 days per week (Subject to Business requirements).
The position holder will manage and support the Procurement team and build and maintain strong, positive relationships with suppliers and stakeholders. Additionally, you will evaluate supply options across a varied Goods and Services portfolio and provide an exceptional Procurement Service to Yusen Logistics while supporting the Head of Central Procurement; therefore, we are looking for someone who must demonstrate proven experience and an excellent track record within procurement.
This role will offer a salary of up to £55,000 (DOE) per annum, plus a £6000 car allowance.

Key responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships and relationships with all relevant stakeholders.
- Provide a skilled negotiation service to minimise expenditure but maximise value-added advantages, including areas of cost avoidance.
- Use best-practice sourcing and evaluation techniques, such as market intelligence, benchmarking, market testing, competitive tendering, pre-qualification, evaluation, and recommendation of potential suppliers.
- Promote awareness in the procurement department, offering advice and guidance to the business in all matters relating to the procurement of goods and services in accordance with existing procurement policies and procedures.
- Develop service level agreements and key performance indicators to monitor and measure suppliers against pre-determined targets as part of ongoing supplier contract management.
- Provide market intelligence and advise the business on the best way to achieve value for money, including total cost of ownership, innovation and sustainability initiatives.
- Undertake structured category analysis to identify opportunities are actively managed to obtain maximum value for money.
- Manage and monitor performance levels through the annual PDR process, objective setting, and other appropriate mechanisms, providing proper mentoring and support.
- Ensure the team is aware of key business outcomes, processes, and expectations, consistently and promptly deliver all company communications, and provide appropriate feedback.
- Support business investigations and disciplinary and grievance processes across the organisation, as necessary.
- Ensure all company procedures, including absence, performance, holiday, etc, are managed and adhered to.
- Ensure all team members know key outcomes, business processes, and expectations.
- Ensuring due attention is provided to employee welfare, identifying and signposting areas of support where necessary, and ensuring functional arrangements are in place to protect the wellbeing of all employees.
Key requirements:
- Minimum Level 5 CIPS qualified
- Proven experience of managing procurement in a multi-site environment
- Strong communication and influencing skills
- Exceptional analytical skills, with the ability to analyse financial data
- You will be flexible and able to manage and prioritise changing business needs and workloads
- Excellent attention to detail
- Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and manage teams effectively
- Driving licence (occasional travel to Yusen sites will be required)
