Procurement Specialist

As a Procurement Specialist, you will play a strategic role in managing supplier relationships, negotiating favourable commercial terms, and driving cost efficiencies. You will be responsible for optimising supplier agreements, resolving disputes, and leveraging market intelligence to enhance business value. While transactional procurement remains a part of the role, the focus is on proactive supplier engagement, strategic sourcing, and supplier compliance management.

Accountabilities and main responsibilities:

• Develop and execute negotiation strategies to achieve cost savings and improved commercial terms.
• Foster strong supplier relationships, ensuring alignment with business objectives and market trends.
• Analyse supplier performance to inform renegotiations and optimise sourcing strategies.
• Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining service and product quality.
• Ensure compliance with financial, regulatory, and operational procurement requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams to align supplier agreements with business needs.
• Manage transactional procurement efficiently while driving automation and process improvements.
• Lead supplier onboarding, ensuring all regulatory and compliance checks are completed, including financial due diligence, credit validation, and adherence to company policies.
• Facilitate system set-up for new suppliers, ensuring accurate data input into procurement and finance systems.
• Monitor and ensure ongoing compliance of existing suppliers, conducting periodic reviews to verify adherence to contractual obligations, regulatory standards, and performance benchmarks.

Qualifications and skills:

• Proven ability to negotiate competitive pricing and terms with suppliers.
• Strong supplier relationship management skills, ensuring effective collaboration.
• Analytical mindset with experience in financial due diligence and pricing models.
• Expertise in supplier scorecard development and validation processes.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with experience in ERP/CRM systems.
• Experience within the IT Channel is highly desirable, particularly in understanding supplier dynamics, pricing structures, and market trends.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements for supplier onboarding and ongoing validation processes.
