Location: London (hybrid working)

Length of Contract: 18 months FTC

Role summary:

As a Product Manager at The Careers & Enterprise Company, you will be working on complex digital products that help to improve careers education nationally. Reporting to a Senior Product Manager, you will help shape the future development of our products, including those that are used to manage our network of Careers Hubs and those that are used directly by schools and other key audiences.

Central to this role will be delivering new product features and improvements to existing features, either leading small projects yourself or working as part of a team on larger features. This will involve researching and understanding user needs, designing creative solutions to complex problems and managing the development, testing and deployment of the product feature.

You will have a track record of collaboratively working within a multi-skilled team, and be used to working with external delivery teams, colleagues and stakeholders to ensure that we continue to deliver high-quality, cost-effective digital products that support The Careers & Enterprise Company’s mission to help young people to find their best next step.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a team to deliver significant new product features or feature improvements. 
  • Lead the delivery of new product features or feature improvements, working directly with stakeholders to understand their requirements and with external suppliers to ensure effective delivery. 
  • Work with colleagues in the Product Team to share knowledge and skills to continuously improve how we work internally, with external suppliers and with stakeholders.  
  • Work closely with the Customer Management Team to ensure that support requests are managed effectively and that collaboration between teams is effective. 
  • Work closely with the Customer Management Team to ensure that customer support requests are addressed efficiently and to gain knowledge about how our products are used to support future development.

  • Able to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team
  • An effective communicator
  • Able to keep delivery on track and to escalate when necessary
  • Organised with the ability to manage your time when you have competing priorities
  • Good digital and technical understanding, and a desire to learn and build on this knowledge
  • Curiosity about user needs
  • An ability to turn user and stakeholder needs into innovative solutions
  • A trusted and dependable team member, with a can-do approach, happy to step forward and take responsibility
