We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Production Engineering Supervisor to join our business as we continue to scale.
We are looking for an experienced Production Engineering Supervisor to play a key role in shaping and growing our new production capabilities.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in the manufacturing or production of transformers, switchgear, or similar electromechanical systems, who thrives in a hands-on environment and is excited to help scale up a high-tech, innovative manufacturing operation.
This is a leadership position with a strong engineering focus – balancing technical depth, team development, process optimisation, and cross-functional collaboration.

You'll Spend Your Time
- Leading day-to-day production engineering activities, ensuring that processes, systems, and equipment are optimised for the efficient, high-quality production of complex electrical products such as transformers or switchgear
- Collaborating closely with design and product engineering teams to ensure manufacturability, and to support new product introduction and scaling
- Developing and implementing standard operating procedures, work instructions, and best practices in production engineering and assembly
- Mentoring and supporting production staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, safety, and accountability
- Investigating and resolving production issues, particularly those related to electrical integration, mechanical assembly, and system performance
- Driving root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring technical issues
- Maintaining and improving production documentation and control systems, ensuring accurate recording of build history, test data, and performance metrics
- Working with supply chain and procurement teams to ensure timely availability of components and materials
- Playing a key role in shaping production engineering strategy and capability as we build a world-class facility and team
The Key Experience We're Looking For
- Minimum 5 years of experience in production or manufacturing engineering, with a focus on transformers, switchgear, or related high-voltage electrical equipment
- Prior experience in a lead or supervisory role within a manufacturing or production setting
- Strong practical knowledge of production processes, testing procedures, and quality standards for electrical assemblies and power systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline
- Hands-on, pragmatic approach to solving production challenges
- Comfortable working both on the shop floor and in collaboration with technical teams
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to mentor junior staff and influence cross-functional teams
- Deep understanding of safety standards and regulatory requirements within a high-voltage or heavy electrical manufacturing environment
The Following Would Be Advantageous
- Experience setting up or scaling production for high-mix, low-volume electrical equipment
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience working in high-spec environments (e.g. utilities, grid infrastructure, aerospace, defence)
- Exposure to ERP/MRP systems and production documentation tools
