What are we looking for
We have an opportunity for a Program Manager for a fixed term contract – 6 months. The role is responsible for the next phase in the build of our new manufacturing and warehouse site located on Shepcote Lane, Sheffield along with the ongoing upgrade of our current manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for taking the site from ‘completed shell’ to full kit out ready for operations beyond August 2025.
Delivery of the top-level program through the execution of multiple project charters, the successful applicant will mentor project owners in the creation and execution of projects. Provide top level program planning, drive teams to successfully implement projects, remove both internal and external roadblocks, while ensuring all projects are seamlessly integrated with critical milestones tracked and communicated at all levels of the organisation. Full responsibility for the multi-million-pound budget and program timing while always keeping safety at the heart of everything we do.
The role will involve working with key internal stakeholders to develop and implement the necessary Project Plan, managing internal stakeholders’ commitments, coordinating and negotiating with external resources including utilities, the construction company, the council and key contractors, bringing all aspects of the project together through exceptional communication and program management skills. Accustomed to coordinating multiple project streams, procurement and CapEx initiatives are all required areas of exposure and expertise. The role will require drive and discipline to handle the day to day, but the ambition to see the final site in operation and the impact that this will have.
Previous experience of having delivered critical programs at scale, on time and on budget is a fundamental requirement to be able to deliver effectively in this role.
Responsibilities
• Assume responsibility for all elements for base factory fit out to enable the delivery of a world class production centre providing the grounds, building and essential services.
• Plan, organise and manage project resources to achieve key project milestones and
objectives including running relevant project update meetings, liaising with appropriate cross functional teams to ensure alignment to requirements within the charter documents.
• To act as the fundamental point of contact for the next phase of the development – lead negotiator and influencer, able to driver the key requirements of the project with all
stakeholders.
• Maintenance of accurate project documentation including progress reports and change orders.
• Cost planning, tracking and control.
• Working with Procurement to contract with relevant sub-contractors, managing
sub-contractor relationships.
• Monitor internal projects and identify any shortfalls in order to build risk mitigation plans.
• Work closely with the VP Operations to report on and discuss workload, project difficulties and opportunities.
• Work with key stakeholders to ensure internally owned projects are aligned with the wider facility deliverables.
• Support internal project champions in the creation and execution of project charters.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks, proactively addressing challenges to keep the project on track and within scope.
• Ensuring all HSE requirements are considered and implemented across the site.
• CDM awareness and delivering site level requirements.
About You
Knowledge and Experience
• Relevant and proven experience of managing and delivering critical projects of scale
• Significant experience of managing internal stakeholders and contractors
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage scope, cost, program, quality, and risks effectively
• Experience in managing collaborative, multi-disciplinary teams and procurement processes
Skills and Abilities
• Dynamic self-starter, able to effectively bring others together to facilitate deliverables
• Strong influencing and negotiating skills to ensure that the project deliverable remain on track
