Introduction to role

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Cambridge Operations for a Programme Coordinator to support the successful delivery of key outcomes for science, revolving around a building construction programme. This role requires collaboration with teams across both the science and operational support environments. Reporting to the Programme Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of our capital investments across the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.

Accountabilities


  • Responsibility for day-to-day support and coordination for a programme of capital investments across our “Southern Sites” – focused on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus; including scientific, workplace, and amenity capabilities.
  • Supporting the programme team through relevant design, construction, commissioning, handover, and operational stand-up activities of the programme.
  • Coordinating team activities through day-to-day management, coordination of business continuity & business impact assessments related to the programme, and working with business leads to manage expectations and constraints.
  • Support and coordinate the development of detailed planning and readiness activities in building handover, IT service provision, and preparedness for future steady state operations. Working alongside and coordinating with teams involved in occupation, change management & operational service delivery.


What you'll do:


  • Support Programme team resources through design, construction, commissioning, handover, and building and Service start-up of all elements of the programme.
  • Coordinate the preparation of internal and external reports through gathering, analysing, and summarising data and information from the project team supporting programme assurance.
  • Support the planning of internal and external engagement activities with key partners and end users.
  • Plan, coordinate, and drive conclusion of actions and risks as they relate to critical workstream sessions.
  • Handle documentation by accessing existing information sources as it relates to programme activities; ensure appropriate information is stored centrally and accessible by the relevant audience groups.
  • Support, track, and progress against required budgets, follow up to ensure accountability.
  • Lead the process and schedule for visitors requesting access to the construction site, ensuring all Risk Assessment and Method statements, induction requirements, and Contractor requirements are met to facilitate a safe site process.
  • Support communication and engagement activities across the programme and for individual projects within it.


Essential Skills/Experience


  • Ability to work collaboratively and flexibly within multiple project teams.
  • Competent in working with Excel and PowerPoint
  • Previous administrative experience of working within and supporting projects.
  • High-quality written and spoken communication skills
  • Can create and maintain processes to work efficiently for both self and others.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills


Desirable Skills/Experience


  • Experience working within scientific disciplines.
  • Appropriate technical & legislative knowledge
  • Experience of working in a global scientific organisation with complex/geographical context
  • Experience of managing ambiguity whilst navigating through it
  • Well-developed external network across scientific and/or project management disciplines
  • Experience working within a RIBA staged construction environment.
  • Excellent hands-on operational experience of complex scientific facilities or highly serviced facilities.
  • Experience in building focused programmes.
  • Experience of working with third party suppliers and construction partners
