Programme Manager

The Programme Manager is responsible for the overall integrity and coherence of the programme. You will develop and maintain the programme environment to support each individual project within it through an effective programme management office (PMO).

You will be working with the Programme Senior Responsible Officer (SRO) and using Managing Successful Programmes methodology, ensuring the effective planning, development, and implementation of a portfolio of projects, workstreams and change activities that fit in with the overall strategy for the programme.

Key responsibilities are to:

• Work closely with the SRO and other Programme Managers, to lead the development of the programme delivery strategy including cost and resource budgets.

• Plan and manage the overall programme, working with project managers to ensure all programme activities are aligned to the outcome objectives and comply with the governance framework.

• Define, document, and ensure the delivery of the overall action plan, preparing realistic project review schedules and plans and ensures the delivery of the overall action plan, preparing realistic project review schedules and plans and ensures these are reviewed and maintained.

• Track activities against milestones schedule, identifying, assessing, and managing risks to deliver successful outputs and outcomes.

• In partnership with existing management team, maintain overall integrity and coherence of the programme – monitor resources, timescales and costs against the programme budget taking action to highlight where these deviate from agreed tolerances.

• Be accountable for creating and monitoring a master integrated programme plan identifying the critical path and escalating deviation from baseline to programme senior management.
