The opportunity

We are recruiting for a Project Security Controller to support the PMO and Engineering teams within the Sector with security management through guidance and co-ordination with external teams and departments.
What You Will Do As a Project Security Controller
Your work at Leonardo will see you managing security risks in an agile, innovative and team-centric manner. You will work to support integrated project teams, aiding the design and development of new products and systems by providing guidance to ensure programmes remain secure.
Through engagement with integrated project teams, you will advise on security controls that address security concerns in accordance with legislation, regulations, security aspect letters and security grading guides. Utilising a focus of supporting the delivery teams to achieve their goals, you will endeavour to provide the best possible solutions balanced against security constraints.
Key responsibility areas involve
- Providing security advice and guidance relating to protection of sensitive information and assets
- Co-ordinating access to physical systems and programme data
- Providing security briefings to new team members and refresher sessions for existing teams
- Supporting and co-ordinating with the business security teams for programme needs
- Managing programme security audits and musters
- Assisting with export control guidance relating to security restrictions such as ITAR
- Continual improvement activities relating to security controls and security culture
- Liaising with corporate security team for matters relating to personnel security clearances
- Occasional support to product security engineering teams relating to risk managements activities
- Co-ordinating secure transportation of protectively marked materials
What We Need From You
Ideally, we would like you to have the following skills; if you don’t have them but feel you could gain them whilst adding value to the team from alternative experience, we’d still like you to apply
- A passion for security and problem solving
- Practical experience of security management
- Understanding of security regulations such as GovS 007 / FSC / ITAR etc
- Understanding of the engineering product development lifecycle
- Ability to listen, understand and communicate effectively (both written and verbal) with internal and external customers
- Ability to be self-directed and work collaboratively to maintain progress
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to changing technologies
It would also be helpful if you had
- Knowledge of NCSC CAPS Evaluation processes with awareness of generic Secure by Design Principles as presented by NCSC, UK MOD and NIST
- Experience of Crypto and ACCSEC management
- An understanding of cyber resilience by addressing the 4 phases of resilience Prepare, Absorb, Recover and Adapt
- Knowledge of equivalent NATO standards/regulations
