This is a 6 month fixed term contract.
Working as a Project Delivery Engineer in our Enable Team, you will take ownership of the preparation and installation phases involved in the technical delivery of our industry leading LAN and wireless data services. These services support both new and existing customers within the ASK4 student and residential customer base, ensuring high-quality connectivity from the ground up.
What you’ll be doing:
- Setting up LAN and wireless networks.
- Ordering site equipment in line with project budgets
- Configuring site equipment in-line with design documentation
- Provisioning LAN infrastructure using ZTP
- Creating and updating work packs / Plan of Works for installs
- Providing remote support for on-site engineers
- Creating documentation for our Support team so they can assist with customer issues
- Supporting third parties with provisioning of their systems (CCTV, Door Access, etc.)
- Troubleshooting wireless access points, switches, Linux and RouterOS systems.
- Updating project stakeholders on install status.
- Assisting Support teams with customer issues where required.
- Managing equipment configuration deadlines ready for shipment
Our ideal candidate will have:
- An IT/networking degree, equivalent education, qualification, or experience
- An understanding of TCP/IP within an ISP environment
- A working knowledge and use of switching infrastructure and protocols
- Experience using and implementing LAN and WAN technologies
- Experience using and implementing wireless technologies
- Working knowledge of operating systems including Windows and Linux
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Professional approach and phone manner.
- A self-motivated approach to learning and development
- Will be a logical approach to problem-solving, a solid team player and have excellent attention to detail
- The ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment during busy delivery periods.
- Second Line or NOC team experience within an ISP is a bonus
- A networking qualification - Huawei, ALE or Cambium is beneficial.
