This role is based in the UK and applicants must lawfully be able to work in the UK.
The Project Engineer is an integral part of the engineering department and responsible for working alongside the projects and applications team throughout the project life cycle.
They act as the main point of technical and project management integration and must have an understanding of the overall route to customer delivery, ultimately being responsible for contributing to the technical work required at all stages.
The Project Engineer has a critical role to play in managing the inputs from across the whole engineering function through the entire lifecycle of a product.
This involvement runs right from generation of requirements and concepts, through to completion of risk analysis and ultimately project execution.
Responsibilities
Coordinate with the Application Department pre-order to ensure the technical needs of the customer is understood and the most cost effective proposal is quoted. Coordinate with Supply Chain to ensure engineering defined information can be sourced and manufactured within budget and project lead time requirements. Interact with clients pre-order to understand their requirements and post order to provide technical support during project execution. Review of contract, scope, technical documentation, and project specification at quote stage and order received stage. Highlight and manage technical risks and manage the activities to ensure the risks have a minimal impact on the project. Managing the technical expectations of both internal and external customers. Work alongside the project manager and act as a subject matter expert for projects. Monitor and review engineering compliance for the project to applicable codes, customer specifications and company procedures
