We understand the need to provide a flexible working environment partnered with team collaboration and socialisation. Therefore, we operate a hybrid working model with 3 days of working from home per week. This role is based in the London office.
MRI’s Professional Services Project Management team is organised into Social Housing, Facilities Management and Enterprise sections. The Enterprise group of Project Managers requires a team leader to support the team members and the successful delivery of MRI solutions.
Role Overview
The role of the Project Management Team Leader is one of the most demanding yet fulfilling leadership roles within the MRI Professional Services Team, combing a high level of both client facing work as well as internal prominence. This role suits someone who is ambitious, keen to be seen, is able to think on their feet, and have a strong aptitude for highly visible management and leadership.
At any one time around 200 Enterprise projects are in flight and this role acts as first line support for these, shared with other escalation paths according to the MRI solution and the size of the project. This support typically comes from other GPS product leaders, or the Project Management team Senior Director, to whom this role reports.
This role will have a client billable target that is appropriate to the size of the team under management, and the team member in this role will be a named senior manager on certain client projects with this being a service directly sold into the larger projects. This role will also act as one of a small team of solution owners for incoming escalations for example those resulting from an active implementation project or a recent client go-live. These escalations will need to be managed through to mutually satisfactory conclusion between MRI and the client, with the assistance of other GPS specialists such as consultants where appropriate.
Responsibilities
- Team leadership and mentoring
- Overseeing the training and support of new Project Managers into the team
- Assist and drive the team to meet Professional Services financial and client satisfaction goals
- Assist the Sales teams in onboarding new projects effectively
- From time to time assist in the selling of new projects and finding additional value propositions for clients and the services value within in-flight projects

- Collaboration with stakeholders around the business as befits project delivery being at the centre of what GPS does, including senior stakeholder interaction at escalation meetings, Senior Leadership Team briefing meetings etc.
- Look for areas of improvement as real world requirements change, to drive efficiency in delivery, and incorporate ideas brought from MRI acquisitions in a flexible and positive manner
- Act as a triage and ownership point for clients who are in an escalation situation, and see these situations through to conclusion with the close support of colleagues from Professional Services and elsewhere
- Deliver client billable services where sold (e.g. as a “programme manager” role within a large implementation) and also where this role continues to be a project management practitioner with their own client project(s) to manage
Requirements
- Preferably at least four years' experience as a project manager or consultant in delivering software-based professional services, or the same amount of experience in a team leadership role in a separate part of the software lifecycle but in the real estate sector
- As the MRI PMX and QPM and Living products are the dominant solution being delivered some experience on this platform would be beneficial, however the role does not require an in-depth understanding of any MRI solution. Demonstrable understanding, and preferably direct experience, of the commercial real estate management sector is required
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Impeccable attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
- Strong interpersonal and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to collaborate and work well with a wide variety of people such as internal Senior Leadership Teams and client C-level team members
- Confident yet collaborative ability to work with clients and prospects in the face of conflict and navigate a course that protects MRI’s interests while ensuring the client sees a positive outcome for them also
