Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 per annum, dependant on skills and experience

We are looking for a
Project Manager to lead the project management and execution of two critical initiatives:
- Project Life Cycle Initiative: Develop and implement a standardised Project Life Cycle (PLC) process for the BirdLife Secretariat.
- BirdLife Global Partnership Meeting: Organise and deliver this major event involving BirdLife International Partners and key stakeholders.
You will be responsible for ensuring both projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget.
How you will do this:
- Project Management: Plan, implement, coordinate resources, and manage tasks to ensure project delivery on time, within scope, and budget.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build effective relationships with stakeholders, partners, and international teams, including event managers and venues.
- Leadership and Team Coordination: Lead project teams, motivate participants, and manage meetings, ensuring clear communication and progress tracking.
- Quality Assurance and Risk Management: Oversee risk assessment, implement changes as needed, and ensure quality outcomes.
- Performance Tracking: Use tools and techniques to measure progress, refine goals, and maintain detailed project documentation.
- Innovation and Problem-Solving: Develop creative solutions and evaluate project results.
- Cross-Functional Decision-Making: Collaborate across teams to drive successful project outcomes.
Ideally you will have:
- Degree level education or advanced vocational training
- Strong theoretical and practical Project Management experience, including methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, etc.), tools, and software proficiency
- An Industry recognised Project Management qualification is an advantage but not essential, i.e. Prince 2, APM, PMP or relevant experience
- Proven track record with at least two complete project life cycles and integrating project methodologies into organisations.
- Skilled in strategic planning, risk management, and change management.
- Strong critical thinking, leadership, conflict resolution, and decision-making abilities.
- Demonstrable skills in budget handling, multitasking, and effective time management.
- Excellent communication and motivational skills, ability to communicate project concepts and deliverables to all audiences, including with people whose first language is not English
- International travel required in year 2 for the Global Partnership Meeting.
