We're looking for a Project Manager to join Utility Consultancy Services which is our in-house consultancy at Kier, we specialise in managing and co-ordinating all external utility works for internal projects and for external developer clients on a range of schemes and sites, ranging from major road schemes, mixed use, industrial and commercial along with residential development sites. Location: Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire - remote working available, with occasional travel to the office required
Hours: 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available if desired, just let us know when you speak to us
What will you be responsible for?
As a Project Manager, you'll be supporting construction and development schemes by providing an effective and co-ordinated external utility services strategy from feasibility through the detailed design and on to construction of utilities.
Your Day To Day Will Include
- Investigating the impact to various utility networks that may be facing disconnections, diversions and new connections, providing guidance on cost, risk and design, working alongside the wider team managing all external utility services effectively
- Providing technical utility consultancy for the following work stages; feasibility / tender, master planning with the wider design team, design for the preparation of detailed construction drawings, post planning and during the construction stage
- Working collaboratively with other project functions to deliver outcomes efficiently, seeking opportunities in enhancing affordability and value throughout the consultation process, supporting project programmes, achieving milestones and driving efficiencies
- Contributing to risk management and value-driven outcomes, ensuring compliance with Construction Design & Management (CDM) regulations, managing design-related health and safety risks, identifying and addressing health, safety, and welfare issues within the team
- An emphasis on people / team development, providing clear leadership to the project design team, fostering a positive and inclusive environment

- You can demonstrate a background in utilities Client facing Utility consultancy experience for a range of schemes and developments, knowledge of NRSWA C1 to C9 stages, an understanding of electric, water, gas & fibre in terms of networks, distribution, quotations, connections, designs, easements and works, with knowledge of the opportunities and constraints around utility infrastructure
- Can influence people across multifunctional teams throughout the business, full driving licence
- Hold the ability to work on a variety of schemes and developments simultaneously, prioritising key areas of work
