We are seeking a Project Manager to join our client’s Business Change team. This hands-on role will be responsible for managing multiple projects from inception through to delivery, applying approved methodologies and processes to meet quality, cost, and delivery targets.
Working closely with the client’s outsource partner, you’ll oversee a range of projects, from regulatory changes and operational enhancements to proposition developments. Projects will vary in complexity, requiring the formation of cross-functional teams to ensure successful outcomes.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities will include project planning, progress tracking, budget and risk management, and ongoing stakeholder engagement including:
- Develop, update, and manage project plans and schedules using Microsoft Project or similar tools
- Maintain RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) logs to track project status
- Monitor project progress against plans, ensuring outputs meet time, budget, and quality requirements
- Manage project budgets and apply change management processes as needed
- Estimate project costs, manage resources, and ensure milestone dates are achieved
- Provide timely project updates and reports for the Change Portfolio Lead and senior stakeholders
- Communicate regularly with stakeholders and sponsors to align on project objectives and progress
- Establish and lead project teams within a matrix management environment, setting objectives to drive efficient project delivery
- Oversee the daily task management of Business and Operational Analysts assigned to projects
Role Requirements for the Successful Project Manager:
- Proven experience in managing projects from planning to delivery, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and high-quality outcomes.
- Strong skills in project planning, resource management, and budget control.
- Experience with Waterfall and Agile delivery methodologies, preferably within the Financial Services sector.
- Ability to manage project schedules using Microsoft Project or similar tools, and maintain RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) logs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for engaging with stakeholders and reporting project progress.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing outsourced service providers.
- A professional project management qualification, such as Prince 2, is preferred.
- Familiarity with IT systems in a financial services platform environment is advantageous.
