OCU Hornbill, part of the wider OCU Group of Companies have a new opportunity for an experienced Electrical Project Manager.
The Project Manager will be responsible for managing the engineering team who ensure that all projects delivered are technically fit for purpose and meet the statutory requirements. Aligning with the project plan and contract reviews, ensuring the project is on target for cost, quality, safety, time and scope.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for the delivery of the full life cycle of the project. Undertaking appropriate internal and external reporting to ensure all relevant parties are kept up to date on progress.
- Liaising with and coordinating all parties to ensure timely planning and delivery of the project and responding to Client enquiries in a timely and courteous manner.
- Planning programmes of work through engagement with key client contacts and determining agreed milestones, dates, and deliverables - and ensure these are updated throughout project changes to remain current.
- Establishing and maintaining financial control of projects (including variations) throughout delivery - and keeping accurate records of progress against budget.
- Driving best practice and team development into project teams via process-focused workshops and project review sessions.
- A strong engineering and construction knowledge including the CDM 2015 regulations.
- Working with the Project Director and Project Team to ensure designs fully meet Client requirements.
- Managing and developing the Project Team
- Comply with the requirements of the company Integrated Management System with regards to Safety, Health, Environment and Quality.
- To carry out site inspections on a regular basis and take action to ensure all sites comply with current legislations.
- Procuring required labour, within defined budgets, to deliver the project (including relevant third-party requirements such as civils, traffic management, and commissioning)
Skills And Experience
- Experience with the installation, construction, maintenance, and repair of transformers & rectifier transformers, LV and HV switchgear, earth switches, surge arrestors and tap changes.
- Experience with Cabling systems pulling, termination jointing and testing.
- Responsible for Managing High and Low Voltage installation work including Power distribution and Control systems.
- Responsible for Managing Oil Works and small bore pipework installations.
- Knowledge of High and Low Voltage Testing and inspections.
- Knowledge and understanding of earthing systems
- Knowledge and understanding of basic excavation works
- HNC in electrical related discipline (or equivalent) desirable
- Driver's Licence
