We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Project Manager with strong commercial experience to lead key projects and drive continuous improvement initiatives within a complex specialist airline. This role requires a hands-on approach to ensure projects are delivered successfully while identifying and implementing efficiency improvements across aircraft operations, maintenance and aircraft modification departments. The ideal candidate will be an effective problem solver who thrives on making a tangible impact in a fast-paced and safety-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, execute, and oversee multiple aviation-related projects, ensuring timely delivery, scope control, and budget adherence.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using appropriate methodologies to enhance processes, reduce waste, and improve efficiency in areas such as our maintenance department, operations, and aircraft modifications.
- Take a proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving, ensuring obstacles are identified and removed quickly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional and management teams, including airworthiness, maintenance, flight operations, compliance, and finance to align project goals with business objectives.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, including project charters, risk assessments, and progress reports, with a focus on aviation-specific regulatory and safety considerations.
- Chair and manage project kick off and update meetings, ensuring all relevant stakeholders are in attendance and work to agreed deadlines
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project and improvement success in operational efficiency, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Facilitate workshops and training sessions to embed a culture of continuous improvement across aviation teams.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including regulatory bodies, ensuring alignment with industry standards and safety protocols.
- Ensure compliance with aviation industry regulations (e.g., CAA, EASA, FAA) and company standards in all projects and process improvements, with specific expertise in EASA Part 21 (Design & Production), Part CAMO (Continuing Airworthiness Management), and Specialised Operations in complex airline environments.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience in project management within the aviation industry, with a track record of successfully delivering projects on time and within scope.
- Strong ability to "get things done" with a pragmatic and results-oriented mindset.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and implement effective solutions in a safety-critical environment.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and drive change in cross-functional aviation teams.
- Exceptional organisational and time-management abilities to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Trello, Jira, Asana).
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making capabilities.
- Experience in an aviation operational or maintenance/engineering environment is a strong advantage.
- Knowledge and experience in EASA Part 21, Part CAMO, and Specialised Operations within complex airline environments are highly desirable.
- Degree in aviation management, aerospace engineering, business, or a related field preferred.
