Project Manager - Civil Engineering

Location: Worcester Area

Type: Permanent

Sector: Groundworks & Sewage Treatment Infrastructure

Our client, a leading UK construction company, is partnering with a Tier 1 civil engineering contractor to deliver a major sewage treatment works project in the Worcester area.

As a result, they are looking to appoint a Project Manager to take full ownership of this site-based role, leading the delivery of extensive groundworks, infrastructure installation, and sewage treatment structures.

This is a vital, technically complex project requiring a hands-on, commercially astute leader with proven civil engineering delivery experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all phases of project delivery, from pre-construction through to completion, ensuring delivery against programme, budget, and quality KPIs.
  • Manage day-to-day site operations, including supervision of labour, subcontractors, materials, and logistics.
  • Maintain strict compliance with CDM Regulations and all relevant Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) protocols.
  • Oversee technical documentation, including RAMS, permits, inspections, and quality audits.
  • Liaise with client representatives, attend progress meetings, and proactively resolve issues.
  • Maintain and report on project programmes, cost controls, risk registers, and performance metrics.

What We’re Looking For

  • Extensive experience in a Project Manager role within civil engineering or infrastructure construction.
  • Demonstrated experience on similar projects (e.g., groundworks, drainage, water/sewage treatment).
  • HND, NVQ Level 7, or equivalent qualification in a construction/civil engineering discipline.
  • SMSTS or NEBOSH Construction Certificate, and a valid CSCS Managers Card.
  • Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts, risk management, and change control.
  • Proficiency with project planning software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) desirable.
  • Experience with reinforced concrete structures and large-bore drainage systems highly beneficial.

This is an excellent opportunity to lead a critical infrastructure development project and join a contractor known for technical excellence and long-term career development.
