About our Maritime business:
Our Maritime team are at the forefront of innovative maritime planning, design, and development. We are multi-disciplinary experts that work on international projects to create successful ports and maritime infrastructure worldwide. We have provided expert commercial, technical and operational advice and created master plans across the five continents for a wide range of port projects.
We are one of the largest and most experienced teams of port professionals globally operating f rom our Maritime offices in Edinburgh, Exeter, Newcastle, Liverpool, London, and Brighton .
Role context:
The role will focus on the project design management and delivery of medium to large single or multi-disciplinary projects. This will require someone with the ability to lead the team and to deliver quality, robust deliverables on time and within budget. This role will provide great exposure to local and global projects alike, whilst working with the leading professionals within the Maritime sector.
- To manage medium / large projects and deliver successful results.
- To develop and deliver good practice in project and design management.
- Liaison and co-ordination with other Project Managers and Project Teams.
- Business development support including leading bids and proposals.
- Project Design Management, achieving profitable results on programme.
- Ensure compliance with internal procedures.
- Design manage documentation to support the delivery of designs (project management plan, programme, RFI register, risk and opportunities register etc.).
- Managing commercial aspects of projects, including proactive change control procedures and maintaining project finances.
- Develop and implement good techniques/systems for project management.
- Ensure that design reviews are held for projects.
- Lead the preparation of bids and proposals where required.
- To monitor delivery against the Client brief and produce design reports, design programmes, deliverables registers, reporting internally and to the Client.
- To deliver medium to large multi-disciplinary design projects for Clients ensuring excellent technical delivery against the brief according to the RHDHV Management Systems.
- To manage and co-ordinate internal design resource, facilitate design meetings with both internal and external designers.
- To ensure commercial control over design projects involving setting of project budgets, allocating fee targets, monitoring fee spend, carrying out change control to achieve profitable results.
- To act as key interface with Clients on allocated projects, understanding and seeking out opportunities.
- Provide guidance to more junior staff including project managers, engineers, graduates, technicians, and admin staff working on your projects.
- Your technical and commercial experience, and liaison with multi-disciplinary teams will be vital to the success of the projects you work on.

Ideal:
- Demonstrate experience in the development of port and shipyard infrastructure, such as heavy-duty quays, dry docks, floating structures, shiplifts, moving structures.
