OHL Project Manager looking for your next challenge? Join
Balfour Beatty’s Power Transmission & Distribution (T&D) team to lead the successful delivery of our ever growing orderbook.
As a
Project Manager, you will be responsible for planning, managing, and delivering the project safely, sustainably, and to the highest standards in
programme, cost, and quality. You will have
overall accountability for project success, ensuring smooth execution from design to handover.
What you'll be doing
- Hold periodic project reviews and update the Digital Briefcase
- Ability to interrogate designs and challenge inputs and deliverables
- Ensure reports provide relevant information to enable decisions to be made
which are informed, cost effective and in line with overall business strategy - Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm & keep up to date with changes in
legislation - Accountable for the safety and welfare of the general public, employees and
supply chain - Carry out Safety & Environmental Tours/promote observation and safety
initiatives - Monitor effectiveness of the H&S Management System and implement
improvement actions - Develop, implement and update resource allocations plans and raise
appropriate requests - Develop high performing teams, promote a pipeline of talent and assist with
internal training through supporting, guiding, motivating and empowering the
team. Using the resources available through training, mentoring and
performance management - Lead risk/opportunity reviews, ownership of the Risk Register and
recommend/implement changes - Manage subcontractors, including monitoring of contractor attendance and
progress, providing direct instruction and support as necessary, such that
contractual arrangements are achieved - Ensure procurement plans are available in line with the overall project plans,
such that material/resources/supply chain can be delivered to meet scheduled
deadlines - Develop, implement, review and periodically update resource loaded
schedules - Ensure team adopt productivity and project controls techniques
- Monitor progress and implement Short Interval Control processes/hold weekly
meeting - Ensure production of operational milestones reflect master schedule and
customer expectations - Ensure that expenditure is in line with the budget and that resources are
utilised efficiently to ensure cost control
Who we're looking for
- Hold a UK Driving Licence
- Previous experience working as a Project Manager
- Member of a professional management body is desirable but not essential
