Role description:
We have an opportunity for an ambitious Project Manager to join our Property team, based from either our Edinburgh or Glasgow office. You’ll be delivering significant property schemes throughout Scotland and the North of England.
Our team is involved in delivering some of the regions largest and most exciting Buildings projects in the residential, commercial office and sports and leisure sectors ranging from £2m - £1bn + in value. We have a fantastic pipeline which we are recruiting for, and these projects will allow you to grow as an individual and provide you with the opportunity to work on the best projects and industry leading Clients in the region.
Working with an established successful team your work will extend from asset planning – defining the business/investment case, setting up the governance structure for delivery, managing design through the pre-contract phases – taking schemes out to market, advising on procurement and managing delivery through to a successful completion on site.
Role accountabilities:
You’ll work with colleagues to provide pre and post contract project management services. You may also act in other related capacities including Employer’s Agent and Contract Administrator in support of our PM Team achieving service excellence and positive outcomes for our clients; showing high levels of technical capability, sound commercial knowledge and a good understanding of the key drivers or cost and value; capturing and sharing knowledge and driving innovation in service.
Day-to-day duties include:
- Working within established financial systems and clear project objectives to produce plans, schedules and track budgets, highlighting variances in order to manage and control project delivery targets.
- Delivering/managing small to medium scale projects or assisting as part of a team on larger projects, ensuring appropriate use of resources to deliver the required scope of work within set deadlines.
- Presenting any project risks or issues to senior managers to ensure the project is not adversely impacted and ensure the delivery of projects to compliant standards.
- Analysing and reviewing a range of data to identify key themes and trends and use the outputs to produce recommendations that support project decision-making.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous experience managing small to medium sized construction projects.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to liaise with peers and senior colleagues and build and maintain relationships.
- Building the ability to negotiate and manage relationships with external stakeholders.
- Commercial acumen and organisational understanding.
- A logical approach and ability to think through complex issues to co-ordinate multi-faceted aspects of projects.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
- Attainment of OR near attainment of relevant professional certification or chartered status
