About Scraye
Scraye is a startup building a nextgen platform to help users rent, buy and finance real estate. Renting or buying property can often be a horrible experience, so we’ve made it simple for renters, buyers, landlords and agents to transact seamlessly at a fraction of the cost.
Coming from a multitude of backgrounds we pride ourselves on how dynamic our team is and how much we are able to learn from each other, so we're looking for someone seeking the opportunity to make history with a socially impactful technology platform that redefines how the real estate industry transacts.
If you are driven, organised, diligent and want to make a difference, we would love to connect.
About The Role
As a Property Manager, you will be a part of Scraye’s Operations team, the responsibility of which is to grow our platform by ensuring that our property operations are constantly running efficiently and refined over time. Taking initiative and ownership of your role is a crucial part of making sure tasks are handled and completed correctly.
As part of this team, you will be responsible for assisting with the smooth operation of our on-the-ground activities. These could include general property management, guiding and assisting private landlords, scheduling photography for new properties, listing admin, proof reading, coordination with agencies, tenants, and contractors, as well as various assignments and functions that might not fall under the traditional property manager role.
You will be reporting to your line manager who will delegate miscellaneous tasks to you at times, but you will also have set responsibilities to oversee and manage. Each and every day is different at a startup so you’ll be learning and growing as you go along but you can have confidence in knowing that the support and knowledge of the entire team will always be at your disposal. We work as a team and we grow as a team. Please note this is an office-based role, 5 days per week in our Paddington, London office.
What You’ll Do
The primary responsibilities are:
● Property management: As a natural multitasker and a self-starter, you will help to manage all requests and tasks in a timely manner, set priorities, understand the feasibility and timeframe of different workstreams and communicate clearly and concisely with tenants, landlords, agents and contractors. Owning a task from A to Z is crucial.
● Planning and administration: You will be responsible for planning and scheduling the inventory reports, safety certificates, maintenance, key handovers, key inventory, as well as arranging photoshoots with our team of photographers across London. You will also coordinate and communicate various requests from agents and landlords, and provide updates to the rest of the team.
● Growth operations: You will help to maintain and improve key operational processes such as uploading listings, updating listings, constantly checking for errors, responding to client enquiries, coordinating with landlords and agents, and updating trackers. You will need to be willing to assist after hours and on weekends as some tasks may require urgent attention and correcting. Property management can be unpredictable so prompt action is sometimes required.
Key Traits
We are principally looking for the below:
● Hard working: we’ve developed a wonderful culture but are also conscious that as an ambitious startup, our team sometimes needs to go above and beyond to deliver on our targets. If having a strict, predictable 9am-6pm workday is important for you, this is not the right role. Our team comes to the office in Paddington 5 days a week,
● Super talented: we aim to give our teammates responsibilities commensurate with their talent. The more you are comfortable with taking initiative and delivering on targets, the faster your responsibilities will grow.
● Proactive with common sense: we get a lot done with a focused team. Being proactive and having common sense around prioritisation and what moves the needle is a key benefit in this role.
● Organised and able to multitask: although your primary responsibility will be property management, you will also be working on the listings side of the business; the ability to multitask and work across several responsibilities is a big asset.
● You enjoy a fast-paced environment: given our nature as a startup, each day is different and those who thrive are comfortable with the fast pace of the business.
● Great to work with: we've focused on building a team which is not only talented but also great to work with. This means the team is respectful, collaborative and works as a coherent unit.
Experiences and skills:
● At least 2 years experience in property management
● Based in London or the vicinity and excited to join our Paddington office 5 days a week
● Track record of success, whether in your previous role(s) or your education
● Availability of recent work references
