About The Team
The Property Services team provides full and high-quality property consultancy services to clients both within TfL and the wider Greater London Authority Group (GLA).
The Property Services data function drives the strategic direction, data governance and implements the way property data, knowledge and information is collected, managed, improved, used and shared within Transport for London (TfL) as well as optimising and future-proofing associated processes.
Whilst supporting the operational business we work to drive occupational efficiencies from the land and property we own using geospatial analysis, allowing colleagues to make confident data-based decisions and unlock value from the TfL estate.
The role
We are seeking a GIS Innovation Developer to provide high level business and technical support to Property Services; to lead and provide a GIS development function for TfL in relation to land and property; to identify, develop, introduce and embed geospatial solutions that will deliver benefits and efficiencies within Property Services and the wider business, develop concise, innovative and effective geospatial insight to aid in location intelligence to support Transport for London's policy and strategic decision making.
Your work in this role will deal with some of the most interesting and unique land interests across London.
You will champion and deliver innovative visualisation and spatial analysis-based techniques and create outputs for Property Services that are properly grounded in an evidence-based approach to maximise their effectiveness. Additionally, you will grow the offering within GIS as a Service (GISaaS) by sourcing, constructing and productionising complex data sources to benefit end users of GIS applications.

- Ability to identify, review, recommend and implement complex technology systems. (Essential)
- Ability to identify data sources, automate data collection, and integrate data with IT systems. (Essential)

Knowledge
- Expert knowledge in the implementation, use, integration, and development of GIS Development and Spatial Database Management Systems. (Essential)
- Knowledge of different geospatial analysis techniques. (Essential)
- Knowledge of land and property datasets and any other resources to provide information about land ownership and interests. (Desirable)
- Relevant qualification in GIS related field (Essential)
- Membership of GIS related professional body (RICS, AGI, RGS, etc.) (Desirable)
Experience
- Experience of working in a GIS development role; deploying and building new services, delivering to time, budget and of high quality. (Essential)
- Experience in working with ArcGIS to build ESRI web applications using Experience Builder (Essential)
- Experience in using coding language to conduct GIS administration and/or analysis (e.g. PL/SQL, R, XML and Python). (Essential)
- Experience in building ETL processes using FME for converting, manipulating and analysing spatial datasets. (Essential)
- Experience of working in property team providing property, graphical, spatial and attribute information. (Desirable)
