The acquisition has secured our role as a critical supplier to the next generation of UK defence programmes. As part of this programme of work our plant and equipment will be modernised over the next 10 years, creating new opportunities for the business and our colleagues.
Based at our 64-acre site, sitting in the heart of Sheffield, we are looking for a QA Metallurgist. This rolewill involve ensuring products meet required quality, quality assurance, and customer specifications.
Role Responsibilities
The following relevant skills, knowledge and experience are required.
37.5 hours per week, Monday Friday, with flexible start and finish time between 06:15 - 09:30 and 14:30 18:00

Role Responsibilities
- Translating customer requirements and standard process instructions to bespoke work instructions.
- Managing and undertakingtests and investigations to ensure product quality, identify risks and opportunities for improvement.
- Creating, collating, reviewing and issuing conformance documentation.
- Workingwith the technical, planning and operational teams to achieve on time deliverytargets.
- Carrying out QA system requirements.
- Reviewing and updatingQMS procedures.
- Checking chemistry, forging, heat treatment and hardness data for conformity.
- Generation of technical procedures such as those for heat treatment and hardness testing.
- MaintainingQC documents and managing data generation and interrogation in order to confirm and improve processes.
- Involvement in Product Development.
- Failure Analysis.
The following relevant skills, knowledge and experience are required.
- A degree in Metallurgy, Materials, or Engineering with a materials module.
- Familiarwith quality systems.
- Understanding of Lean principles.
- Awareness of manufacturing processes and NDT methods is a distinct advantage.
- Report writing and presentation skills.
