About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Quality Assurance Manager to join the Kerry Food & Nutrition team at our Portbury site in Bristol.
What will I be doing?
Quality Assurance Management
- Support food safety and quality systems (QC & QA).
- Develop, review, and align procedures with Kerry global standards and GFSI standards and global customer expectations.
- Internally audit against global and regional standards using Intelex.
- Support food safety and quality systems including HACCP, Food Safety Plan, GMP, GLP, Pest Control, and Sanitation.
- Product Microbiological and other Standards – Corrective Actions & trending of all results.
- Non-Conformances - Ensure the management of non-conformances to the business where non-conformance is identified with root cause and CAPA.
- Overall responsible for the on-site analytical laboratory and ensuring GLP are being followed.
- Life extensions - Ensure the management/ authorisation of life extension requests from Ops teams and agree actions required.
Compliance
- Enforce Kerry manufacturing standards (ingredient/product standards, process specifications, formula compliance, sanitation/GMP/pest control).
- Ensure products are compliant and safe.
- HACCP - Ensure HACCP in production areas is being implemented and documented
Quality Improvement
- Track and trend KPIs.
- Support plant Quality Improvement and Master Plans.
- Partner cross-functionally for quality and process improvement using RCAAP principles.
- Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement - Coach and drive the culture of problem solving and continuous improvement through KPS tools to improve standards - ensure effective reviews are taking place between each operational department
Customer Satisfaction
- Proactively investigate customer complaints and technical issues and ensure root cause and CAPA is implemented.
- Ensure raw material risk assessments are completed, reviewed and raw materials are tested and released to meet production demand.
Managerial Responsibilities
- Handle recruitment, organizational development, personnel assessment, training, direction, and motivation.
- Support the FSQ Manager with budgets and utilize resources effectively.
- Support as delegate to the FSQ Manager during absence or when required.
What do I need to be successful?

These Include
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Food Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, or similar Science/Engineering.
- Strong coach and people developer, keen to improve the skillsets and capabilities.
- Previous experience managing large operational teams.
- Have significant experience in change management.
- Knowledge of food manufacturing dealing with complex sites/processes in a high care environment
- SAP experience would be advantageous.
- Able to work autonomously and seek advice/escalate issues as required.
