Position Title: Quality Engineer
Duration: Contract
Location: Oxford
Description:
- Project manage the quality aspects to NPI and Prototype manufacture.
- Governance authority on quality elements of the NPI process with key focus on:
- Gateway approvals
- Comprehensive engineering drawings and specifications Design Quality methods
- Quality methods for handover to Production
- Prototype manufacture and control
- V model (validation & verification)
- Embed a right first-time approach into the Product Development Process and Prototype Manufacture with the effective use of quality tools in New Product Introduction (NPI); supporting the NPI activity to achieve results as the business matures through education, effective governance and achieving stakeholder buy-in of the new process.
Skills required:
- You will have proven experience gained in a manufacturing quality environment within the Automotive industry.
- You will also have experience in the use of business improvement tools and techniques (5s, Lean, Kaizen) and using APQP tools and techniques.
- Experience in the use of problem resolution tools (8D, 5 Why, 6 Sigma etc.) and techniques is a must along with proven knowledge of AS9100, ISO9001, TS16949 (IATF16949), and ISO14001.
- Experienced in the application of quality tools essential to New Production Introduction - DFMEA, PFMEA and Control Plans
- Knowledge and use of statistical analysis and process capability studies would be beneficial
