What You’ll Do As a Quality Engineer
As a Quality Engineer you will interact at Integrated Project Team (IPT) level. Working in partnership with the Operations team / IPT to
- Offer advice, support and assistance on all Quality Assurance / Quality Control matters
- Contribute actively to IPT requirement to deliver a compliant product in a timely manner meeting all cost and safety requirements
- Agree the Project Assurance Plans (PAP) defining project assurance activities aligned to Risk, Opportunity and Improvement within the Programme and associated Pro-operating in line with the requirements of the Operational Framework
- Actively ensure Leonardo Production System (LPS) dashboard goals for Quality KPIs including Quality Notifications, Material Review Boards (MRB), Failure Review Boards (FRB) etc are achieved by supporting improvement plans
- Attend and contribute to key meetings including (but not limited to ) IPT, functional meetings, Operations meetings, Engineering meetings etc
- Ensuring concessions / production permits are processed correctly and in timely manner, directly supporting where required
- Support achievement of project assurance milestones within the Programme, Product and Project lifecycle
- Assist in delivery of reports and supporting data to the Programme, Project and function as required.
- Support reduction of Non-Conformance costs
- Further education and experience ideally in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing or experience in Defence Electronics or similarly "complex" industry.
- Be able to demonstrate knowledge within the areas of AS9100 / ISO9001 and Continuous improvement.
- Good knowledge and practical experience of Quality Tools such as Root Cause Corrective Action, Pattern Fault Lifecycle, Process Mapping, Verification and First Article Inspection.
- Be a logical thinker, capable of harvesting complex data into actions with practical solutions that supports business goals, in 'the language of the business'.
- Have good interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style across all functions of the business.
- Be able to demonstrate experience in working with Customers and Suppliers.
- Have demonstrated experience working in high precision manufacturing environment.
