Quality Engineer
Description & Background:
At Hinkley Point C, we are building the UK's first new nuclear power station in a generation, critical to the UK NetZero targets. The Quality Engineer will support the Quality Manager in ensuring project Quality Assurance requirements are understood and implemented, meeting client and statutory requirements effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Provide nuclear safety leadership and build a strong, compliant quality culture
- Assist in capturing and updating Contract Quality Assurance Plan (CQAP)
- Manage and maintain the project's Quality Management System (QMS)
- Communicate and implement QMS within the project team
- Prepare and perform audits, including supplier assessments
- Coordinate external audits and follow up on findings
- Manage Non-Conformance Report (NCR) process
- Review equipment specifications
- Interface with quality client representatives
Experience Required:
- ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor qualification
- Good understanding of inspection processes and protocols
- Expertise in problem-solving and improvement tools
- Competent in producing and analyzing quality KPIs
- Degree qualified or minimum 3 years Quality Engineering in a regulated industry
- Additional experience in Quality Tools (6 Sigma / 8D / RCA)
- Proficiency in developing QA procedures and templates
- Understanding of document management systems

- £58,000 to £68,000 Annual Salary plus Car Allowance
- Site-based at Hinkley Point C, Somerset
- Full time, permanent
- Every other week is a 4 working days week
