Quality Improvement and Governance Manager
Woodthorpe Hospital - Nottingham
Full Time 37.5 Hours Per Week
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Quality Improvement Manager to provide governance support to the management and clinical team at Woodthorpe Hospital.
The role
This role is at Head of Department level and is varied and interesting in scope to include:
- Leading and overseeing of core clinical governance activity; to include management, oversight and action planning in line with Ramsay clinical governance audit programme. Provide leadership and support to multiple specialities across Woodthorpe
- Incident management; to lead, provide oversight and expertise in management of clinical incidence; providing support and leadership to clinical specialities on good reporting, identifying trends, quality reporting and appropriate action planning.
- Lead, support and implement patient safety incident support framework (PSIRF) principles, by supporting with hot debriefs, after action reviews and patient safety incident reports (previously RCA's).
- Developing and implementing clinical best practices, policies, and procedures and maintain good governance practices in terms of document controls.
- Reviewing data on quality of care measures, such as infection rates and readmission rates, to identify areas for improvement.
- Lead, develop and have oversight on patient feedback metrics include overseeing complaints procedures.
- Providing assurance on our compliance with CQC regulation, ICB quality agenda and NHS(E) initiatives and national requirements.
As a private hospital the role will assist in monitoring and responding to our customer feedback and lead on monitoring a range of governance, clinical effectiveness, and patient safety activity, supporting the Head of Clinical Services (Matron) in delivering the quality agenda across Woodthorpe Hospital.

What You’ll Bring With You
- NMC or HCPC Registered (Dip HE/Degree/RGN/RM or AHP)
- Previous experience in a quality improvement/risk management/governance lead role is desirable but not essential
- Be able to lead quality and governance improvement processes and initiatives in a health care facility
- Demonstrate knowledge of the relevant regulatory requirements and current healthcare initiatives as well as reporting responsibilities for healthcare services
- Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of contemporary clinical risk management strategies
- Computer skills using the MS Office Suite and Web based reporting systems
- Ideally, but not essential, experience in analysing clinical information and data, creating written reports for various committees and other stakeholders and conducting serious incident investigations
