Our client's award-winning engineering business on the outskirts of Tewkesbury is growing. Following a large investment in buildings and facilities, they're now proud to be investing in more technologically advanced equipment and machinery too. They're a small to medium-sized precision engineering company making their own original equipment, which goes on to truly make a difference in the world. They're on a journey of achieving great things and they're excited to be in a position to create a brand new Quality Manager role on a permanent basis to lead their growing Quality function.
Could you be their newest employee?
You won’t necessarily have heard of them because jobs don't come up there often. This only happens if one of their team retires or if they're growing, and this time they're growing. You probably won't have heard of their customers either because they make some highly specialist components for high-tech industry which generally go under the radar, but these products do go on to make life-changing differences for so many people all over the world.
They're a friendly team and they're proud of the work they do. With the latest in metrology equipment, with clean, modern, and well organised premises plus good managerial support and all the tools and software they need, they get the job done to a very high standard.
They’re now in a great position to take on a new Quality Manager to lead their growing team to manage and coordinate all Quality matters for CNC machined components. By joining them, you'll enjoy:
What experience will you need as the new Quality Manager?
The Directors are open to considering your application whether you're relatively early in your leadership level Quality career or if you've held a lead Quality role for some time.
Either way, you’ll be an experienced Quality Lead, comfortable directing Quality efforts in a CNC machining, precision engineering environment.
You'll have had exposure to handling non-conforming parts and producing non-conformance reports, working very closely and regularly meeting with customers to work through engineering challenges together.
As an experienced Quality Leader you’ll know this already, but to be clear, you’ll be confident in understanding complex engineering drawings and in appreciating the capabilities of the precision inspection equipment being used by your department to check dimensions of machined metal components to include gauges, micrometers, vernier callipers, microscopes, shadowgraphs, CMM and similar equipment.
You'll be an encouraging communicator with a gift for building positive relationships with colleagues, with direct reports and with customers too. You don't need to know how to program a CMM because they have people who do, but you will need to be able to use one confidently if ever needed. You will also be spending a good deal of time working closely with company Directors, taking ownership of Quality Management Systems, processes and documentation, carrying out non-conformance investigations and reporting, and working with customers to overcome engineering challenges together.
