RAN Engineer (OSS Specialist) Role Specifics

Reporting to the Director of Public Networks, and working in collaboration with O-RAN SMEs, RAN Optimisation and Development Engineers, and SW Development team, develop AWTG products which deliver Service Assurance of RAN/O-RAN Networks, and Automation / Sofwarisation of RAN/O-RAN Processes from Integration to Optimsation

You will work directly on projects which AWTG are engaged on as a Service Integrator or Technical Authority, and act as a SME (subject matter expert) and deliver against AWTG project deliverables in this domain area.

• Hands-on experience on O-RAN system design and development (O-DU, O-CU, interfaces)
• Deep knowledge of RAN Intelligent Controller (RIC) Architecture design, E2E uses case development, testing and optimisation
• Hands-on experience on Layer 1-3 protocol development
• Hands-on experience on Linux, Docker, Kubernetes, and at least one high-level programming language knowledge
• Knowledge of AL/ML
  
  

Subject Matter Expertise Required

• Experience of Performance Management and Optimisation of 4G/5G Networks – preferably muti-vendor – with extensive knowledge of Parameters, KPIs and User Experience
• SMO/OSS Tool knowledge – preferably development or Super User experience – of Automation and Softwarisation of process
• Experience, or extensive appreciation, of E2E RAN deployment, integration and optimisation processes
• Knowledge of RAN/O-RAN CM and PM Data structures – preferably more than 1 vendor
• Experience in xApp/rApp development, and AI/ML technologies is an advantage

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in telecoms
• Ph.D. in a related field preferred
