Job Description
We are looking for a developer for a fast-moving, industry leading development team working on a cutting-edge post trade platform on AWS cloud who has strong understanding of trading processes and based in London office for at least 3 days a week.
You Will Own/be Accountable For
- Design, develop, and maintain applications using modern front-end and/or back-end technologies
- Ensure applications are scalable, reliable, and secure
- Propose technical solutions and vendor products for business problems and work with project team to deliver the solutions
- Use and improve our in-house continuous delivery pipelines to release new features and functionality
- Liaise with all system owners and business units to ensure systems are fit for purpose
- Produce high level technical designs and liaise with relevant group Infrastructure, cloud, security and network teams to ensure it fits with Company’s Architectural patterns and practices.
- A pragmatic and practical approach to solving business problems
- Self-starter with a strong ability to multitask and aptitude to learn new technologies
- Used to agile working practices.
We Are Looking For Candidates With The Following
- Extensive hands on experience on React or Svelte UI development
- Commercial programming experience in Python
- Experience with AWS cloud services such as S3, ECS, APPSync
- Working with APIs including REST and/or GraphQL
- Familiar with Object Programming
- Knowledge of relational and / or non-relational (NoSQL) databases (we use Postgres)
- Experience with message queues (we use Kafka)
- Experience in Commodities trading preferable or similar financially-based institutions
- Advanced knowledge of application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines
- Understanding of architecture and design across all systems
- Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices
- Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals
- Passionate about building an innovative culture
- Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance, and software improvement
- Exposure to cloud native development
