There are two wards at this site: Watling Ward is an acute admissions ward that has 20 beds, with an Intensive Care Unit including a de-escalation lounge. • Responsible for security at the airlock entrance - including signing in visitors and patients on and off the unit, ensuring contraband items are put in lockers at the entrance and maintaining general unit security.
  • To provide a safe, polite and efficient reception service to visitors and staff.
  • To maintain working relationships with statutory and non-statutory groups connected with the care of the mentally ill, staff of Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust and of other Trusts and hospitals, users and carers of the service, general public and other professionals.
  • Issuing keys to staff.
  • Answering the phones and transferring to the appropriate person, recording messages accurately, responding to queries appropriately, following Trust procedures and protocols.
  • Sorting and distributing mail.
  • Assisting the Ward Administrators/Clerks as directed.
  • Filing, scanning and photocopying of documents as directed.
  • Keeping the reception area clean and tidy
  • To ensure the confidential nature of the work is maintained always.
