Regional Director of Operations

As the Regional Operations Director, you will lead and manage a team of Data Center Site Managers across the UK region, with a strong focus on the mechanical and electrical (M&E) infrastructure that underpins data center reliability and uptime. This role is not IT-focused, but rather centers on the physical infrastructure operations of data centers, including power, cooling, and building systems. You will ensure the highest standards of operational excellence, preventative maintenance, and incident response across all sites. In addition, you will foster strong collaboration with other Regional Directors and senior stakeholders at NTT Global Data Centers EMEA, driving alignment and continuous improvement across regions and departments.

This is a hybrid role with a strong emphasis on visiting our various UK sites with some travel and short-term stays annually across EMEA as required.

What you will do

• Takes all necessary measures to ensure that the customer SLA’s are met at all times. The goal is 100% service availability and zero downtime for all DC buildings in the region
• Provide mentoring and leadership to the staff within the region by fostering a culture of passion and commitment for reliability and customer service
• Work with other areas of the business to ensure that a proactive culture towards safety and
• Support the business’s commitment to quality and other related certifications by ensuring continual improvement against standards
• Maintain relationships with key customers, authorities and vendors within the region
• Ensure the highest levels of satisfaction, including by attending periodic business review meetings
• Support any regulatory or industry certification by facilitating reporting and auditing within your region
• Manage a substantial budget by working closely with each DC Site Manager
• Undertake regular business planning reviews and support the business planning process for future expansions and new business
• Provide operational input and requirements to the development of new facilities within the region and establish new operational capabilities as new sites and infrastructure are built
• Take an active leadership role and living the NTT values by supporting your region in the new EMEA wide organization and facilitating and guiding your teams through changing environments
• Direct and manage regional resources during complex incidents and drive communication with customers and suppliers through to resolution, including supporting any subsequent root cause analysis

What we are looking for

• Excellent understanding of the complexity of data centers with demonstrable management experience
• Extensive knowledge and experience in the operation of Data Center infrastructure: both Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) and related security facilities
• Experience in leading within critical service environments
• Strong understanding of CAPEX and OPEX and managing large budgets
• Strategic thinking individual with structured and targets-oriented approach
• Demonstrated skills in leadership, technical management, and collaboration
• Outstanding relationship-builder and communicator, both internally and externally
• Ability to work in multinational, interdisciplinary and culturally diverse teams
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, along with strong quantitative analytic skills in English
