Reliability Engineer – Supervisor
Location: Thetford, Norfolk
Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00 – 15:00
Salary: £47,500 + Benefits
Thetford is our flagship low energy site at 2 Sisters and our centre of excellence for added value breaded products. It means we receive chicken from our primary poultry sites to produce breaded, fried and dressed products for major retailers like M&S, Sainsburys, Aldi and Tesco. One of our most modern sites, Thetford opened in 2011 and employees over 900 colleagues.
We are seeking a hands-on Reliability Engineer – Supervisor to lead our Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) team at our Thetford site. Reporting to the Reliability & Planning Engineer, this role plays a key part in ensuring our assets run efficiently, reliably, and safely.

What You’ll Be Doing
- Leading the execution of the site’s 52-week PPM schedule.
- Supporting and mentoring a small team of engineers to carry out safe and effective maintenance.
- Documenting all maintenance activity using our CMMS system and ensuring accurate parts usage.
- Identifying reliability improvements, implementing approved changes, and contributing to continuous improvement.
- Ensuring critical equipment is maintained to support uninterrupted production.
- Upholding site safety, compliance, and engineering standards at all times.
What We’re Looking For
- NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering and NVQ Level 2 in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in engineering within a food manufacturing or similar regulated environment.
- Proven experience leading or mentoring a small engineering team.
- Strong knowledge of engineering best practices, including PPM, root cause analysis, and reliability-centered maintenance.
- Familiarity with coating and frying equipment is advantageous.
- Good communication skills, PC literacy (Excel, Word), and a methodical approach to documentation and safety.
