The role
As a Respiratory Protective Equipment Trainer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. Join us as a Respiratory Protective Equipment (RPE), where you'll deliver training, conduct face fit testing, and provide expert RPE support. Play a vital role in maintaining legal compliance, reinforcing safe work practices, and safeguarding the health and well-being of our workforce.
Day-to-day, you’ll join a dedicated team delivering and facilitating RPE and Powered Air-Purifying Respirators (PAPR) training courses. You'll provide face fit testing, PAPR unit training, and other RPE-related instruction to a diverse range of learners, ensuring compliance and best practices in respiratory protection.
- Deliver high-quality RPE/PAPR training to employees, ensuring professional standards.
- Maintain and update training course content as an SME to align with regulations and assessment criteria.
- Manage administrative tasks, reporting, and compliance related to training delivery.
- Uphold training standards in line with legislation and manufacturer guidelines.
- Support quality management systems with structured objectives, lesson plans, and secure training content.
This role is full time 35, hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Essential Experience Of The Respiratory Protective Equipment Trainer
- Experience in the practical application of RPE and testing in an industrial environment, including associated COSHH requirements.
Qualifications For The Respiratory Protective Equipment Trainer
- Demonstrable working knowledge of INDG479 and HSG53.
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
- Level 3 Award in Adult Education & Training, or equivalent.
- Fit2Fit Accreditation – Desirable.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintainBaseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role.
