Our well-established Finance team forms part of our Business Management function for the firm and comprises Management Accountants, Finance Systems and Reporting, Financial Control and Revenue Management.

Our Revenue cycle includes credit assessing clients, financial risk management of clients and matters, time recording, work in progress (WIP) and debt, including responsibility for the Billing function. Our team comprises of 1x Billing Supervisor, 3x Legal Billers and 3x Revenue Controllers.

About the role

We’re seeking an experienced professional to manage our Revenue function by forging strong relationships with Partners and clients, bringing fresh ideas and expertise, whilst driving the team to succeed. You will be:

• Working with heads of practice groups to ensure fee earner time recording is prompt
• Driving cash into the business by managing the full working capital cycle (time recording through to cash collection) and mitigating financial risk associated with client relationships
• Line managing and nurturing the Revenue team, identifying training needs and contributing to their development in role. Also supporting with problematic client debtors, as appropriate
• Ensuring financial risk on client matters are mitigated and areas of risk are identifiable and reportable to the CFO
• Producing meaningful and insightful forecasts, WIP and debt reporting
• Ensuring the Billing team deliver an excellent service and deliver to billing SLAs
• Being the technical point of contact for billing queries on VAT, ebilling, exchange rate issues and disbursements
• Supporting the Billing Supervisor with streamlining processes and implementing new systems

About you

You will be an accomplished Revenue Manager with a proven track record in leading revenue and credit control functions efficiently:

• Good technical knowledge on billing, ebilling platforms, VAT, disbursements and Solicitors Accounts Rules
• Strong stakeholder management skills to build rapport and gain trust, including putting the client’s needs at the forefront of decisions
• Demonstrable knowledge of international revenue management, including foreign exchange
• Expertise in Revenue Cycle management including credit assessing clients, financial risk management of clients and matters, time recording, WIP and Debt
• Excellent negotiation and influencing skills, with the resilience to raise questions when required
• Strong leadership skills to keep the team engaged in a highly pressurised target driven environment
• Effective team player across the wider finance team and firm
• Innovative and strategic thinker for the future of the function
