Our full-time (37-hours per week), permanent positions offer stability and growth opportunities in the heart of Chesterfield Town Centre.
We're seeking individuals experienced in Council Tax billing and recovery, rent billing and collection, or Business Rates billing and recovery.
- don’t worry if you lack service-specific experience; we welcome candidates who can meet our person specifications
- in this role you'll be at the forefront of our service reshape, embracing a more versatile approach
- your responsibilities include processing changes in customer accounts, awarding discounts and exemptions, for either Council Tax or Business Rates
- you'll play a vital role in collecting Council Tax, Business Rates, housing rent, commercial rent and sundry debt income and arrears owed to the council
What are we looking for?
- a proactive team player with a 'can-do' attitude, eager to learn and adapt to evolving demands
- local government experience is advantageous, but isn't not mandatory
- excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with strong numeracy skills, are essential
- you'll handle sensitive matters with empathy and professionalism, ensuring customers feel respected and understood
- a satisfactory DBS certificate will be required.
Tech-savvy?
- fantastic! proficiency in various software applications is a plus
- being well-organised, accurate, and able to thrive under pressure are also key traits we value
