What you’ll do:

The Road Sweeper Driver plays a vital operational role in maintaining clean, safe, and welcoming public and private environments. We are looking for a zero hours operator to support our growing infrastructure in the area of Dartford. Operating specialist road sweeping vehicles, post holders will deliver high-quality, efficient services on highways, footpaths, and commercial premises in line with our client commitments and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate road sweeping vehicles to clean highways, car parks, depots and other designated areas in accordance with schedules and instructions.
  • Manually remove obstructions from the path of the sweeping equipment which could
  • damage the mechanism of the machine.
  • Perform routine vehicle checks and report defects in line with legal and company requirements.
  • Undertake cleaning duties of the sweeper under your control.
  • Complete daily logbooks and service records accurately.
  • Report any maintenance issues or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor promptly.
  • Carry out manual sweeping and litter picking where required to complement vehicle operations.
  • Comply with health, safety, and environmental standards at all times.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous manner when representing Ground Control on client sites and in public spaces.
  • Support the wider operational team with other grounds maintenance tasks as needed.

What we’re looking for:

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to drive-in all-weather conditions, in all types of terrain and on all roads.
  • Full UK Driving Licence with Category C (Class 2) entitlement.
  • Driver CPC qualification.
  • Experience operating large vehicles safely and in compliance with traffic regulations.
  • Able to work early mornings, evenings, weekends or nights as required by the rota.
  • Good level of physical fitness.
  • Strong understanding of Health and Safety at work.

Desirable Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience in environmental services, facilities, or highways maintenance.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge for minor maintenance tasks.
  • Experience of Left-Hand Drive vehicles in the UK would be an advantage
