Job Title: Safety & Premises Management Officer
Location: Civic Offices, 44 York Street, TW1
As a Safety & Premises Management Officer at Achieving for Children (AfC), you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of modern, safe, and healthy working environments across all AfC buildings. Working closely with the Head of Safety and Premises Management, you will help oversee a wide range of facilities management responsibilities, ensuring our buildings remain compliant, well-maintained, and fit for purpose.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the organisation to maintain safe, healthy, and modern working environments in line with AfC’s policies and relevant legislation.
- Undertaking day-to-day facilities management tasks, including assisting with office moves, coordinating and/or carrying out basic property maintenance.
- Conducting checks to ensure building compliance with AfC’s health and safety policies and associated statutory requirements.
- Liaising with Building Managers to address facilities issues, providing support and guidance as needed, and coordinating or supervising contractors.
- Maintaining administrative oversight of AfC buildings, their maintenance schedules, and related requirements in partnership with Building Managers and local authority partners.
- Organising routine meetings with Building Managers to share best practices and communicate updates in legislation or internal policy.
- Responding to day-to-day premises-related issues with a focus on service continuity and cost-efficiency.
- Supporting the development and implementation of AfC’s Safety and Premises Management function, including related policies and procedures.
- Assisting with the provision and administrative coordination of specialist equipment as part of office relocations or adjustments.
- Liaising with AfC’s partner organisations on property-related matters to ensure alignment and cooperation.
- Undertaking relevant vocational training to enhance your knowledge and skills in facilities and premises management.
